Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

Marty AI Coach processes the messages you type or speak during a coaching session. These messages are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. We do not store your conversations on our servers - they exist only in your browser's session storage and are deleted when you close the tab.

2. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser storage for the following purposes:

• Essential: Session messages (sessionStorage - cleared on tab close), cookie consent preference
• Preferences: Theme choice (light/dark, color), voice output preference (on/off)
• Analytics: Umami on our own server. Cookieless, no IP addresses stored, and it only runs after you allow analytics in the cookie banner.

3. Voice & Audio

If you use the microphone feature, audio is processed by your browser's Web Speech API for speech-to-text conversion. Audio is not recorded or stored. Voice output uses ElevenLabs to generate Marty's voice - the text of responses is sent to ElevenLabs for this purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude API): Processes your messages to generate coaching responses. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• ElevenLabs: Converts text responses to voice audio. Subject to ElevenLabs' privacy policy.

5. Crisis Data

We detect your approximate location (via timezone) to show relevant crisis helpline numbers. This detection happens entirely in your browser - no location data is sent to our servers.

6. Data Retention

We do not retain any personal data on our servers. Your conversation data exists only in your browser. Clearing your browser data or closing the tab removes all conversation history.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we don't store personal data on our servers, you can exercise these rights by clearing your browser's local storage and session storage.
